Amid the wave of globalization, the Middle East market has emerged as a trillion-dollar blue ocean full of immense potential, drawing the attention of enterprises worldwide. Recently, the “Middle East Market Strategy Forum,” hosted by Yande International and co-organized by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies (APESG), concluded successfully in Shenzhen. The forum brought together over 180 representatives from various sectors, including policy, taxation, law, listed companies, and overseas enterprises, to explore new opportunities in Middle Eastern trade and illuminate the path of international development for businesses.

The Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies (APESG) and NovaX have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Centered on resource sharing and professional collaboration, the partnership aims to jointly promote the capitalization and large-scale implementation of green technology projects, providing innovative momentum for global sustainable development.

In May 2025, the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency grandly launched the “International Forum on Sustainable Development · Hong Kong 2025” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This world-class event gathered around 800 leaders and senior executives from politics, business, and professional sectors, spanning government departments, regulatory bodies, chambers of commerce, social enterprises, local and international financial institutions, business entities, academic institutions, and environmental organizations. Together, they focused on green development and low-carbon transformation under the “Belt and Road” initiative, building a bridge for cross-sector dialogue and collaborative innovation.

When ESG evolves from “social responsibility” to “strategic opportunity,” how can enterprises transform the concept of sustainability into measurable business competitiveness?

On April 23, 2025, a high-level dialogue on ESG strategy was successfully held at the Hong Kong Science Park Shenzhen Branch. Centered on the theme “ESG Driving the Future of Enterprises: Sustainability and Long-term Value,” the event brought together ESG experts from Hong Kong and Shenzhen, senior legal advisors, corporate leaders, and academic representatives to explore practical pathways for turning ESG from vision into action.

As a core participant in the roundtable dialogue, the Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies provided attendees with cutting-edge insights and hands-on experience.

The Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum & Exhibition 2025 (MIECF), in line with China’s “dual carbon” goals and the Macao SAR Government’s key environmental protection policies such as the Macao Long-term Carbon Reduction Strategy, promotes green and sustainable development through a series of professional international forums, exhibitions, green business matching, Green Public Day events, and exchange activities. The initiative empowers innovative green growth, encourages carbon reduction across society, and fosters the building of a beautiful city.

The event is strongly hosted by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, with four major national ministries — the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment — as special supporting units. In April 2025, the School of International Education Cooperation held an online symposium on ESG industry-academia-research collaborative development in Room A409 of the International Education Exchange Center. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on enhancing collaboration in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and the “dual carbon” fields.

Attendees included Liu Bin, Director of the Research Office; Cao Xiaoli, Dean of the School of International Education Cooperation; Yu Xuejiao from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Hou Guohua, faculty representative of the School of International Education Cooperation; Mai Chaojie, Executive Dean of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies (ASEPG); Li Jie, Project Director; and Yang Juntian, Marketing Director.

The 2025 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference was grandly held in Beijing from March 27 to 31. It was co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Beijing Municipal Government.

As a national-level platform for international exchanges and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, the Zhongguancun Forum has become a major global stage for science and technology collaboration, showcasing Beijing’s strong appeal as a hub of scientific and technological innovation.

The 2025 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, themed “New Quality Productive Forces and Global Sci-Tech Cooperation,” featured five major sections — forum sessions, technology transactions, achievement releases, frontier competitions, and supporting activities — comprising 128 events. The conference involved more than 100 countries and regions, bringing together thousands of guest speakers to discuss how technological innovation can foster new quality productive forces and provide fresh ideas and insights for global innovation and development.

Recently, Mai Chaojie, Vice President of the Qianhai Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, accompanied Executive Vice President Wang Shouqun and the Qianhai delegation on a week-long business visit to Spain and Switzerland. Centered on the theme of “two-way investment and industrial collaboration,” the delegation visited key organizations including the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and Spain’s MediaPro Group.

Through high-level economic and trade forums and international resource matchmaking initiatives, the visit injected new momentum into deepening cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the European market.

On March 6, a World Bank delegation visited the Shenzhen Emissions Exchange (hereinafter referred to as “SZEE”) for research and held discussions with officials from the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, and the Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies.

Participants included Lu Chenggang, Division Director of the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment; Liu Chang, Second-level Researcher and Deputy Director of the Climate Change Division of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment; representatives from the Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies; as well as Lai Gaoyu, Chairman of the Shenzhen Emissions Exchange; Liu Yang, General Manager; and Lin Yin, Deputy General Manager.

The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding cooperation opportunities in the certified voluntary emissions reduction (VER) market.

On March 5, 2025, the “Global Finance and ESG Sustainable Development Summit Forum & the 2nd Victoria Harbour Overseas Excellence Institution Awards Ceremony”, hosted by the Greater Bay Area Financial Professionals Association, China Chengxin Green Finance International, and HashKey Exchange, and supported by InvestHK and the Boham Sustainable Development Center, was held in Hong Kong, China.

With its outstanding performance and practical achievements in the ESG field, the Asia-Pacific Institute for Sustainable Development Strategies (APESG) stood out among numerous institutions and was honored with the prestigious award of “Outstanding ESG Practice Institution of the Year.”
