The Asia-Pacific ESG Strategy Research Institute (APESG) has been dedicated to establish an international platform for in-depth research, shared collaboration, and communication on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) since its founding in 2024. It brings together top experts from renowned research institutions, universities, and corporate organizations both domestically and internationally, forming a strong research capability and resource advantage. The institute provides customized strategic consulting and solutions for enterprises across multiple dimensions of ESG, covering key areas such as carbon management and technology transfer, green investment and financing, high-level international forum organization and planning, professional training course design, and the preparation of in-depth research reports. Our services aim to comprehensively meet the diverse needs of enterprises on their journey toward green transformation and sustainable development, providing robust support and assurance for achieving their green transformation upgrades and sustainable development goals.
In addition, APESG integrates resources with a global perspective, establishing a solid bridge for enterprise green transformation through meticulously planned high-end events, professional training, and services. In 2024, APESG officially became a member of the China Certification and Accreditation Association (CCAA). It will work with more top industry institutions and experts to deepen cooperation between domestic and foreign certification and accreditation agencies, and jointly promote international cooperation in standard setting, certification and accreditation, and new technologies in the ESG field. It will further enhance its research level and international influence in the field of sustainable development, and provide high-quality and reliable ESG strategic consulting and solutions for more companies.
The 2024 Pearl Bay International Climate Investment and Financing Conference with the theme of "Global Cooperation for Green Future" was held at the Guangzhou Nansha International Convention and Exhibition Center. During the conference, the "Belt and Road" low-carbon service partnership was launched, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Climate Change Standards Alliance was unveiled, and a series of substantial results were achieved.
The first batch of Belt and Road low carbon services partners include: Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Ecology and Environment, Hainan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Cambodia Regional Research Center, Uzbekistan Green University etc, a total of 23 Chinese and foreign cooperative institutions. Through policy dialogues, technical exchanges, enterprises and relevant government departments of the "Belt and Road" co-construction countries promote the application of green and low-carbon industries and technologies in the countries, and help build a clean and beautiful world.
At the 7th Anniversary Ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance and Outstanding ESG Performance Recognition Ceremony, the Asia-Pacific ESG Research Institute (APESG) won the ESG Performance Recognition Award for its outstanding contributions in the ESG field together with HSBC, Bank of China, CLP and other outstanding institutions. This not only demonstrates APESG’s professional strength and determination in promoting the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area, but also marks another important milestone in our promotion of regional green transformation and social responsibility.

Jean is an EMBA alumnus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, graduating in 2015. Since founding Bohan Finance in 2011, she has successfully led her team in completing several industry-first major projects, including the significant asset restructuring of the world’s largest port, Ningbo Port's merger with Zhoushan Port; the absorption merger of Zhejiang Energy and Dongdian B for main board listing; the first "A-share split A-share" listing of Ningbo Ocean Shipping in China; and the largest red-chip IPO financing scale globally with the return to A-shares by Nuocheng Jianhua in 2022. These projects span various fields, including IPOs and mergers and acquisitions, with some cases being selected as "Classic Cases of Mergers and Acquisitions in the Capital Market Over the Past Decade." She has also provided branding strategies for capital markets to several companies with market capitalizations exceeding 100 billion RMB, including leading household robotics company Ecovacs (603486), dairy giant Yili Group, and national enterprise Shanghai Jahwa.
Jean holds a GRI certification and established the Bohan Sustainability in Hong Kong in 2021, focusing on ESG disclosure and consulting. In 2024, she founded the Asia-Pacific ESG Strategy Institute (APESG), dedicated to promoting ESG concepts, enhancing corporate social responsibility, and improving sustainable development capabilities to attract more ESG investors. Her successful cases span multiple sectors, including synthetic biology, port logistics, environmental protection, and semiconductors. She has organized numerous forums and study activities, creating a platform for communication between enterprises and investors.
Joseph is the Vice Chairman of Bohan Financial Group & Bohan Sustainability Centre, Member of the 12th and 13th CPPCC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Vice President of the ESG Committee of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, 2023 Vice Chairman of Forbes China ESG Innovative Companies Selection Committee and Advisor of MSC-EM Advisory Committee of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.
Joseph is dedicated to assisting publicly listed companies in building long-term ESG value. He provides professional ESG strategic consulting, information disclosure, training, and rating enhancement services for A-share and Hong Kong-listed companies, as well as state-owned enterprises in various sectors, including synthetic biology, ports, shipping, environmental protection, chemicals, information technology, and manufacturing. His efforts help these companies enhaxncetheir ESG brand image and achieve sustainable development.
Joseph graduated with a Bachelor‘s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, AnnArbor, USA, Certificates in Sustainability from the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge, UK, and GRI Certification from the Global Reporting Initiative. He has previously worked at Ernst & Young and Standard Chartered Securities, bringing extensive experience in financial investment, corporate sustainability, and brand promotion.
